About João Xu
Born and raised in Macau, he studied architecture in Lisbon and later completed a master's in landscape architecture at Auburn University, USA. Drawing has been a steady thread throughout — studied drawing formally under Mio Pang Fei at the Macau Polytechnic Institute and later at Lisbon’s Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes. Since 2020, his illustration practice has revolved mostly around book covers and children's books like Em Busca do Menino Contente or Lou e o Papagaio de Papel. Currently based in Lisbon.
